Focus Alert is a nootropic formula based on a bioactively tested, patented wild green oat herb extract called Neuravena™ Green oat herb which was selected from 36 other varieties as it has the highest potency. The active ingredient in Focus Alert works as an inhibitory compound: it targets two neurotransmitters in the brain that are associated with stress. By inhibiting these neurotransmitters, it can lead to better thinking in more stressful situations.
In clinical trials on the ingredient, it has been observed to work in specific areas of the brain, including the left frontotemporal area, which is one of the most important parts of the brain for cognitive tasks. The frontotemporal area of the brain is frequently linked to dementia: those who suffer from dementia will often have noticeable signs of damage in the frontotemporal area of their brain.
Like many nootropics and focus-boosting compounds, it specifically targets the dopamine system in your brain, including dopamine re-uptake transporters and dopamine receptors.

In one published double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover study, for example, researchers assessed human electric brain activity during intensive mental work to determine the effects on mental fitness. Researchers used a quantitative brain mapping EEG system called CATEEM to visualize changes in brain activity. The group that took it exhibited a more relaxed brain state during cognitive tasks compared to a placebo group.
In another study, healthy elderly volunteers “with below-average cognitive performance” consumed single doses at weekly intervals in a double-blind, randomized, crossover trial. During follow-up cognitive testing, it was shown that our group made “significantly fewer errors” in a cognitive performance test.
